Snowed In

The snow started on Friday around 5:00 and didn't stop until 4:00 Saturday, dropping a total of 18 inches in our back yard. The kids were going crazy being trapped indoors like caged animals. It was crazzzzzzy!! Here are just a few stories about what happened...

  • Last week I bought one of those pre-made cookies that are pre-cut too, so all you have to do is transfer them to the cookie sheet, and bake. The kids enjoy making all sorts of creations with them, and so to pass a few minutes Frank and I let them each "create" their own cookie master pieces while the oven was pre-heating. I started to smell something super sweet, and figured it was the cookies, but then Frank started to smell something burning. Someone, we don't know who, had put an empty strawberry milk cartoon in our oven, and me not knowing who it was turned on the oven and started to melt the cartoon.
  • Reyna decided to help herself to a "snack" of a cascade all in one dish packet, by the time we figured it out...it was gone. Yes, we had to call poison control in the middle of one of the worst blizzards of Philly's history!! Luckily there wasn't anything wrong accept she had a bad case of the hick-ups.

  • Frankie cut a good three inches off of Marianna's hair. She now has a funky layered bang going on. Luckily it isn't THAT bad, I think we will be able to get around it. I am just bummed because I have been trying to grown out her bangs for over 18 months now, and now I have to start all over again. He is very very LUCKY that he didn't give his baby sister her first hair cut!!!

Well those are the big exciting things that we had to deal with these past 24 hours. We are going to load up the kids soon and take them to play outside, so I will post those pictures soon.

I think it is going to be a long while for us to melt this snow, after all it isn't going to get above 35 this week, and there is even more snow predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday...they say maybe another 6 to 12 inches. How bad is it, that we don't even think that is very much after we have gotten so much. I think the total for this season is just under 5 feet of snow, which is A LOT of snow for us.
