Soccer Star

Frankie had his first soccer game last night, and did great. I am really proud of how he followed directions, and tried his best. I, like the great scrapbooker, and mom that I am, took A LOT of pictures, and was able to weed some of them out, but I still have to many to count, and just needed to share them with you. So grab a cup of coffee, coke, or ice tea, whatever you would like, sit back and relax enjoy the game....

Frankie is on the team "Shag's Crabs", and he proudly wears the number four. He wanted us to shout from the side lines "Go number four!" not "Go Frankie". Then he thought a little more and wanted us to yell "Go number four, go to the goal, yeah, yeah, Go number four"!

Here Frankie stretching, getting ready for the game.
The girls settled down to watch the game, and stayed the way for the whole thirty minutes of play. (and then I woke up from my nice dream)

Frankie started on defence, and was waiting for the ball to come his way to stop the ball.

(He did make one really good block, of course he kicked it right back to the other player, who was then able to kick it for a goal)

He then got moved to offence, and he liked that position much better. He was able to move and run around a lot more.

He was able to steal the ball from these girls, he must have just figured that they were his sisters, and he was doing nothing more than normal.

Yep, that is our soccer star...I guess he is a lot like me. He ended up on the ground more than once, (sometimes when the ball wasn't even in play) and there were a few times that he ended up taking down his team members.

The girls were so in tuned to the game, they couldn't take their eyes off every play. They cheered for their brother and didn't distract Frank and I at all. (again, I woke up from a nice dream)

Frankie here is dribbling the ball, and trying to get it to his other team members. Such concentration on his face.

He made a great block, and the coach let him throw it in .

So here is a picture of our soccer star now...

AND...

And here he is in about twenty five years. What do you think? Do we have the next David Beckham on our hands? Only God can knows the answer, but whatever happens with soccer Frank and I are both proud parents, and can't wait to see where this adventure brings him.
